Last night, I had a great opportunity to see Tigers Jaw in concert at Union Transfer in Philadelphia on their Lost On You tour in support of their recently released album by the same name. It was a special night and a a sold out show for their album release celebration.

They had support from some great artists as well. First up was Creeks a.k.a. John Simmons from Balance & Composure. Creeks performed an emotional acoustic set to get us started, and even shared some new music that we have look forward to. He also came out a little later in Tiger Jaws set to help out on guitar, paying homage to the fact that his old band released a split album with Tigers Jaw sixteen years ago.

Creeks was followed by the band, Hot Wave Heat Flash from California. They got the crowd going and started to build the energy for the evening in such a spectacular way. Their sound was very new-wave rock/post-punk and the energy built through the whole set.

Then came Tigers Jaw. The band originally formed in 2005 in Scranton, PA and have been consistently releasing great alternative/indie hits. Immediately the energy in the room stated to rise and everyone’s excitement grew. They played many tracks from their new album Lost on You and some of their old hits as well, which the crowd went wild for by screaming along. There was plenty of nostalgia and emotion filling the sold out room as well as high energy with plenty of crowd surfing, moshing and singing/screaming along with the band.

Definitely looking forward to the next time Tigers Jaw is in town! Scroll down for a full gallery from the night.
