Gunnar Teel under to moniker One Man Picnic has released his first single since 2020 “High On You”. Teel is a co-founder and singer of the indie folk/rock band Tucked In, based in Pennsylvania. While Tucked In has been enjoying the release of their album “Friend’s, Dogs and Lovers”, Teel has also been working on his solo project, focusing on his own journey in songwriting and more experimental work.
I’ve kicked all the habits that wrecked us years ago, but I still use.
This new single is beautifully devastating. A sad love song, full of yearning and old memories but not a love of the present. Of a man who is reminiscing on his days of poor decisions and habits he has now broken, the only thing bringing light (even if there is still a hint of darkness) is the memories of his love from earlier days.
My bloodstream is clean, except for your memory, I’m high on you
Despite the sadness of the lyrics, I cannot stop listening to this song and I am very excited to see what more Teel/One Man Picnic has is store for listeners in the future. With the talent and dedication he brings to his work, I see his 88 monthly listeners on Spotify growing in numbers very soon.
You can catch a live performance of “High On You” on March 15th at Twelve 78 in Phonexville, PA and March 18th at Char & Stave in Ardmore, PA
